Overview

NMIT has been providing high quality tertiary education in the Nelson-Marlborough region for the last 100 years. Government owned and funded, NMIT is a tertiary education institute renowned for its innovative applied and vocational education courses.

NMIT focuses on serving the fast-growing areas of Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough. We pride ourselves on the quality of our staff, our courses and our campuses in Nelson and Blenheim, but most of all on the success of our graduates. At NMIT we offer personal attention from staff, a ‘fit for purpose’ range of courses and programmes, and high standards of achievement.

Each of our programmes have been developed in consultation with industry, the community and other education providers, to ensure that they will provide you with the knowledge, skills and experience for your chosen career or further education. Our programmes support the industries that make up the Top of the South’s economy: fisheries, wine, aquaculture, aviation, tourism and the arts.

The Nelson-Marlborough region is one of the most beautiful and desirable areas to live and study in New Zealand.
