NorthTec

Overview

NorthTec is situated in the northernmost region of New Zealand, servicing a population base of approximately 160,000. The Polytechnic’s largest campus is based at Raumanga, a suburb of Whangarei city, with Learning Centres in Dyer Street (HSE Centre), Kensington (ASB Leisure Centre), Kamo (Primary Industries), Port Road (Marine Technology Centre) and Robert Street (Downtown). There is a regional campus in the Bay of Islands (Kerikeri) and Learning Centres at Rāwene, Kaikohe, Dargaville and Kaitaia. In addition, the Polytechnic has achieved flexibility in programme provision for smaller or more isolated areas and through memorandums of agreements with education providers, industry, iwi and charitable trusts, NorthTec offers a range of programmes in health, science, business, technology, tourism, education, Māori studies and the arts. These programmes cater for students learning from NQF Levels 1 to 7.

We have created a number of new programmes, backed up by “state of the art” delivery systems. This includes information technology support geared to latest international developments.
