Key Principle |
Explanation |
| 1 |
TANZ is committed to working together for the benefit of all member institutions and of the ITP sector as a whole. |
TANZ will achieve this by encouraging sharing of best practice and intellectual property between institutions and supporting the development of collaboration by staff at all levels across a wide range of activities including academic, corporate and commercial. |
| 2 |
TANZ initiatives are designed so as to enhance the interests of and not to operate against the interests of the polytechnic sector as a whole. |
TANZ members will not operate in an unethical manner that is against the principles of TANZ (as per the MoU). |
| 3 |
Any member institution can choose whether or not to contribute resource to any given project. |
It is accepted that different institutions operate in different environments. Not all TANZ projects will be of benefit to all members. |
| 4 |
The TANZ relationship will stand alongside or overlay other collaborative activities which may be developed or exist outside TANZ. |
TANZ members may operate existing commercial arrangements without modification. |
| 5 |
Chief Executives of TANZ members participating in TANZ initiatives are responsible for managing the internal implications of those initiatives to the best mutual advantage of TANZ participants. |
For example, they are responsible for ensuring quality assurance of their contributions to the initiative and, where required, effective marketing of the project in their region. |
| 6 |
All TANZ members jointly own intellectual property arising from initiatives. |
|
| 7 |
No member institution can use, modify, sell or replicate resources / intellectual property without obtaining express approval from the TANZ Board. |
