Activity/Development

Benefits/Achievements

Sharing of course materials between member institutions.

New and current course materials have and are being shared between member institutions therefore sharing development costs and achieving real value creation, collaboration other efficiencies.  Achieving network of provision via TANZ member institutions.

Strategic partnerships with a number of leading Industry organisations and bodies.

Strong partnerships which were created in 2003 continue to provide successful industry / polytechnic project outcomes – thereby enhancing learner outcomes within workplace environments.

Multi-discipline team approach to  course delivery.

Course delivery by team rather than single course tutor ensures course & learner issues become apparent early & allows for immediate remedial action.

This approach also enables continuous improvement, capture of new learnings & sharing of knowledge by team.  

Online, pre-course Learner orientation package designed for learners.

This enables those new to eLearning to become familiar with look & feel of course site structures, provides detailed overview of programme & access to tutors to field questions & provide encouragement and support prior to the actual start of the online programme.

Orientation package provided to all TANZ member institutions for use with NCFLM & redeveloped as generic online orientation for all online programmes using the  Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS).

Similar online programme developed for new online tutors.

Roll-out of generic version of NCFLM to other TANZ members for local/regional delivery.

Generic version of NCFLM was rolled-out to all TANZ member institutions.

Member institutions collaborated in & shared development of programme documents to get academic approval for delivery of NCFLM by each TANZ member within their region.

Design & delivery of staff development programme based on delivery of NCFLM online for TANZ member institutions.

Staff training,  support and capability development  processes were also put in place to bring tutors, programme managers, enrolment staff and other support personnel  up to speed with online delivery.

Staff seminars, & individual training & support for development of online distance delivery provided by TANZ national development team to all member institutions.

Centralised content updating process for NCFLM online content for all versions of NCFLM.

A proof of concept but effective centralised content management process was instituted to ensure maintenance of quality product and delivery systems across all TANZ member institutions and all versions of the NCFLM online programme.

This process not only provides QA for the programme but also enables feedback from each TANZ member to be captured & incorporated in content updates.

Development of knowledge sharing community of practice & database for all involved in delivering NCFLM.

Database currently being developed to provide ready access to FAQs, feedback & issues data for all TANZ member institution staff involved in any aspect of online delivery of NCFLM.

This system designed to support capability development of all staff involved with online delivery of NCFLM as well as supporting training of staff new to online learning through an experience & knowledge sharing/creation community of practice model of development.

Collaboration with & staff development support for Otago Polytechnic in development & delivery of NDB.

Otago Polytechnic will deliver this programme supported by TANZ national eLearning development team.

Staff development, training & capability development will be supported  TANZ national  eLearning development team.
